Improving Access
There are several requirements that need careful consideration when retro-fitting or modernising a lift to improve accessibility. The lift entrance and lift car size will both need adjustments to suitably accommodate wheelchair users. Additionally, the buttons of the lift operating panel within the lift car need to be accessible from a wheelchair, fortunately these are standard in all modern installations undertaken by our installation team.
For users with sight impairments or hearing deficiencies, the operating panel within the lift must have tactile or responsive buttons and all lifts have whilst including a voice announcement to passengers indicating what floor the lift is approaching and stopping at.
