Omega Lift Services recently completed a full modernisation of Lamp of Lothian‘s 1990 Otis hydraulic lift system. Otis lifts are robust and extrememly reliable but, as with any other lift, they need professionally serviced and maintained. It is vitally important that as your lift begins to age you must engage with a competent, fully certified lift engineering company — and Omega Lifts were on hand to work with the Trust team throughout this vital modernisation project.
A hub for creativity and craft.
If you have ever wandered through the south end of Haddington, you have likely felt the quiet charm of the Elizabeth Hamilton buildings. These historic structures are more than just beautiful architecture; they are at the heart of the community, and managed by the Lamp of Lothian Trust.
Founded in 1967 by the late Duchess of Hamilton, the Trust began with a visionary goal: to restore derelict buildings and transform them into vibrant hubs for community use. Today, over 50 years later, the “Lamp” continues to bring people together through art, culture, and social connection.
Angus McCallum, Vice-Chair of the Trust commented, “On behalf of everyone at the Lamp, I would like to express my gratitude for the excellent and efficient work that your team has demonstrated in refurbishing our lift. We are very grateful for your support.”
The Lamp of Lothian Trust is a charity that relies on the generosity of the community to keep these historic buildings open and accessible to all. Omega Lifts are delighted to work with the Lamp, ensuring visitors and staff can move between floors safely and quickly.
